„Hotel revisited”

„I have been visiting the Grand Elysee a few times in recent years and always had a satisfactory to - in the past excellent stay. The facilities and location are fantastic, so are staff in fitness area and at breakfast and reception as well as the cleaning staff.During our last two stays we noticed a very poor attitude of staff in the restaurant area Pizzaria and Cafe; also the Dammtor Epress seems to be hit and miss. It would be very useful for guests who would need this due to injuries/ issues walking. They would appreciate to get themselves with the luggage to the station..staff in the restaurant area were lacking customer service skills, ignoring customers or making comments on the amount of the food ordered within earshot of other customers does not leave a good impression. Total opposite to excellent service in breakfast area and at reception. Also Express service to Dammtor was asked for an evening before departure, then again before and after breakfast before being told this was not available as in use for filming. It would have been nice to come clean from the start..Had to turn up 3 times at reception to be told to be back again to then find out that the Dammtor Express was prebooked by a film team - hardly 5 start approach!.lack of customer service skills.arrogantly talking about customer's orders if too little,planting a board right in front of customers' faces rather than a printed menu of the day, waiter was clearly not enjoying his job and we could not wait to leave the restaurant..staff lacked customer service skills; arrogantly talking about customer's orders if too little, ignoring customers - did not look as if they enjoyed their job”
